How medication assistance works
Every participant's medication needs are different, so we build a plan around yours. Typical supports include:
- Medication prompting and timed reminders.
- Assistance with packaged or blister-packed medication (Webster-Pak, dose administration aids).
- Help with topical, inhaled, eye or ear medication.
- Observation, recording and reporting of side effects.
- Liaison with your GP, pharmacy or support coordinator.
- Maintaining a current Medication Administration Record (MAR).
Trained to the NDIS Practice Standards
All Gaia Care support workers complete medication administration training and follow the High Intensity Support Skills Descriptors and the NDIS Practice Standards for high intensity daily personal activities. We also keep written records of every dose administered so your circle of support — family, GP, plan manager, support coordinator — has full visibility.
Combine medication assistance with broader supports
Most participants using medication assistance also benefit from personal care, overnight support or Supported Independent Living (SIL). One trusted provider keeps your supports consistent and your information in one place.
